The next day, Harper woke up and received an alert that Ivy had posted a new “Uprooting” episode.

Next time you’re down on yourself, remember that we all have problems in life, some much bigger than others. That’s life. No rhyme or reason to it. It’s part of the fabric of being a human. We’re all going to experience frustration, disappointment, tragedy, death, and sickness. We’ve heard it before, none of us are getting out of this alive. It sure would be nice that, while we’re here, we have some peace. We deserve it. It’s ours to claim.

All we have is this moment right now. The past is done and the future isn’t certain. So how do we want this moment right now to play out?

It’s a choice.

At any moment, you can, if only for this singular moment, drop any problem. Try it. Right now. Think of a problem you’re experiencing. Allow it to weigh on your shoulders. Let it dig in. Absorb its weight, the strain it puts on your neck, the tension it creates in your head. Now, for just this moment, because that is all we have, right now, toss the problem to the ground and stand on it. Feel it beneath you. Breathe in the freedom. In this single moment, you’re free, weightless, existing in the here and now with no problems weighing you down. The problem is there for another time.

Harper replayed the video and attempted her exercise. After several times, the tension disappeared. She’d follow Ivy’s wise counsel and leave the problem for another day.
